Littler
Hi Guys, Just something I've bin wondering after doing a little research, I've bin looking into the benefits of good breather setups and was wanting to know if anyone had ran the setup of running the breather lines from cam covers to a tank then them being vented to say the midpipe due to the vacuum it could create? Would the potential drop in crank case pressure be of any real benefit to the power output or have I got this wrapped round my head all wrong? Or would any potential gains really not be worth going to all the hassle of setting it up? Just something I had been pondering weirdly while I was stuck on the M1 the other day while thinking of ways of maximising a setup lol, please tell me to shut up though if I have it wrong Cheers! Wez
Do a search for DanDan build thread, a setup like this with one way valves was well documented

Littler
Very interesting read from here onwards, looks like when combined with a very free flowing exhaust (as it looks like Dan had issues with the exhaust valve he had when closed) there are gains to be had, looks like I might follow this up with my 4" system. In terms of R&D I may do a before and after dyno run to really put the numbers into context. Dan's aim like mine would be to increase the lower/mid torque/power which seems to be where this plays a part (the cast mainfold also helps I think lol)! Really glad you pointed me in that direction Wez Edited January 17, 2013 by Littler (see edit history)

Littler
Has anyone else got any thoughts on this?
Polo
IV vented into the exhaust tail pipe before at 45degs, had gains of 5-10hp. Venting it into the intake system is not ideal, oil vapour lowers the octane rating of the fuel once in combustion chamber. Ok on a low spec car but big power it's a no no.
