As Markssupra told me to checked, the top black hose has collaspe inside. RB-GTE YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK YOURS.LET HOPE THAT THE CAUSE . RB-GTE
I wanted to mention, would the idle control valve have anything to do with this possibley? When the car starts up, it will always die right away. On the second attempt it will stay running but it runs pretty rough for the first 2 minutes. After that it runs rather smooth. We haven't had a chance to change it yet. I removed it before and it was clean inside, cleaned it anyways but that didn't change much. mellonman
Glad its sorted Patrick I have some spare silicon hose if anyone's interested, PM me. I take it this is vac pipes we are talking about right? I would of though silicon main pipes would collaps also?
sprag5
can you get these hoses off by just undoing the jubilee clips and pulling it out or do the turbo pipes have to be removed?
markssupra
I take it this is vac pipes we are talking about right? I would of though silicon main pipes would collaps also? These are reinforced silicon hose about 57mm dia x 3mm wall. The oem hoses are double skinned so while the outside looks fine, the inside skin collapses because of heat and go brittle. Mine ran perfectly after changing them and for the last few years
markssupra
can you get these hoses off by just undoing the jubilee clips and pulling it out or do the turbo pipes have to be removed? You need to remove the turbo pipes. Also disconnect some of the front small vac hoses on the multiple hard pipes so it can be lifted up to gain access to the large turbo pipes undereneath. RB-GTE
Well I just got my car back a while ago after I got the decat and midpipe installed. I just wanted to get it back for the time being. I was by my mates shop and asked him about those two hoses, he said he didn't get a chance to check those. SO since pretty much everything else has been checked, this is making me positive that red/blue hose have collapsed on the inside causing the problem. I will pull those off soon. Does anyone know what the diamater size of those is? I will just go grap some regular intercooler couplers/hoses, I am assuming it should be around 2.5" ? Guest fripon
hope you sort it out mate. the hose i put on are 57mm.good luck.
RB-GTE
Hmm well I pulled both hoses off. The one towards the front has collapsed in a little, no where as much as fripon's did. The hose towards the back was rather straight on the inside. Since they are already off and partially damaged from removing I'll be replacing them of course. I'll go try locating some hose now and hope this solves it.
RB-GTE
well fuck me ... New hoses and same issue is still there.
RB-GTE
I read this post about someone having similar issues. They said they did the TTC conversion, removed unnecessary valves, new actuators. The sequential valving is having some sort of role in what I'm experiencing possibley? thoughts?
