Guest SD23
Hi everyone, I am a new member and looking to owner a Supra soon, I have wanted one for years. I am wondering if you guys could help me with a question I have after doing some research? I know that the NA Supra don't have any turbos and that a TT have twin sequential turbos. However I have read that a lot of people have installed a single turbo onto an NA creating an NA-T and also that a lot of people change their TT to a single turbo creating a Single Turbo TT. I am now curious is a NA-T the same as Single Turbo TT? Thank you for your help Simon
Supra Gaz
In short, no. An NA-T is not the same as a TT to T, use the search function and will be revealed. They have some large differences in injectors, intakes, pistons, compression. Lots basically.
Dnk
Just buy a TT and save yourself a shed load of work, if you find a nice one that's been looked after you can single turbo it and on a stock motor have 600 hp without any issues. Actually if you get an auto tt the box will be the weak link if you start upping the torque and power beyond bpu levels. At bpu (approx 400 fwhp) the tt is just fine on the autobox Edited January 11, 2013 by Dnk (see edit history)
dan294
You could buy my TT and save yourself a shed load of money on mods, plus you're only in Lancashire too!
abtin90
There are a lot of differences between the two as already mentioned. This thread should answer your questions on the NA-T conversion. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=282979
Dnk
What kind of budget do you have ? Have you looked into the cost of insurance yet ?

dan294
Try HIC for insurance, I paid £555 fully comp on my Jap Spec TT with all mods declared, that's using it as a daily driver as well on a 5000 mile per year policy. That's at 33 years old with 12 or 13 years no claims.

j_jza80
The ignition system is a major difference, the TT engine setup is superior using coil packs instead of a mechanical distributor.

Guest SD23
I'm 25 and yeah and no lol. I have driven the Nissan 350z and just sold my 2.0L Cupra, not as powerful as the Supra and different delivery system so not the same
dan294
If you try HIC, they will probably ask if you have experience of powerful RWD cars. It helps if you have had a few. Where in Lancs are you?

dan294
I'm only in Leyland, my Supra is for sale at JRR Cars in Much Hoole. If you want a drive to see what they're like, I may be able to arrange it? just to see what a BPU TT Auto is like...
