inazone
Hi, Does anyone have any info on the Active Spoiler ECU pinouts? I am currently installing my active spoiler and it turns out i have the plug at the bumper end however no loom in the dash. I have seen various diagrams to create a manual switch however i would prefer to wire it up as it is intended. I have searched the forum quite extensively but i can not seem to find what i need. The ECU plug has 18 pins, the Spoiler plug has 5 pins, the switch has 7 pins so if my logic is correct i would guess i need to connect the ECU to 4 other differnent points on the car? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Alex.
Iky
The switch is also illuminated, don't forget that. It would wire into the car ecu. You just need to go through the workshop manual. Also I assume there is a fuse for it? Try google.
inazone
I have tried to find references to the Active Spoiler but it seems this was never the option for the US spec cars, and it would appear all the workshop manuals refer to US spec. Hence my question on the forum.

Iky
Mate, your not looking hard enough. Luckily for you, I'm looking to do this in the near future. Here i found this just now from a quick google - http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peter.betts/supra/TechTips/spoiler1.htm The link came from this page - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?62263-Active-Front-Spoiler-Wiring
inazone
Hi, i have seen this info, but i am struggling to work out exactly what connections i need to make, unfortunately i am not an electronics engineer although comfortable with wiring and using a soldering iron. What i need is for example ecu pin 7 goes to speed sensor wire..... ect. I can then make up a loom and may be try and have a go at making it manual/auto. It's all there, http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peter.betts/supra/TechTips/spoiler5.gif http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peter.betts/supra/TechTips/spoiler4.gif There are little numbers around the grey shaded area, I'm pretty sure these are pin numbers. Looks like to me, pins 12 and 13 aren't used.
Iky
Pin on spoiler ECU 1- ODO and TRip and then to Speed sensor pin 3 2- Pin 8 on spoiler switch 3- Pin 4 on spoiler switch 4- Don’t know wtf that is some sort of lamp and then to speed sensor pin 1 5- Pin 1 on spoiler motor ( –VE on motor) 6- Pin 2 on spoiler motor (+VE on motor) 7- Think it’s fuse for spoiler 8- Think it’s connected to pin 7 9- To the alternator for some reason 10- To pin 5 on spoiler switch 11- To another fuse connected with the ecu 12- Not shown 13- Not shown 14- Pin 4 on spoiler motor 15- Pin 3 on spoiler motor 16- Pin 5 on spoiler motor 17- Think it’s earth 18- Think it’s earth connected to above. That's what I can make out of it. I might have made mistakes. Edited January 11, 2013 by Iky (see edit history)
inazone
Hi Iky, Thanks for your responses, i printed out those diagrams and stuck them together which helped alot in working out the pin IDs. Its good to see that you have come to the same conclusions as me. I think pin 4 goes to the dash as a warning lamp. Not certain what the alternator feed does but it may tell the ecu that the engine is running. All i need to do now is make a loom and find a spare ecu plug and switch plug?
