Guest vetrox
Hi guys! I'm now in the market again for a supra. I've always wanted one but normally end up buying and wasting money on something else at the last minute.(*cough* protons *cogh cough*) Anyway. I'm back on the hunt for a manual tt supra. Ideally manual but may settle on an auto but it needs a targa top. Do supras that havehad a manual conversion worth less than those that are manual from factory? or does it not normally make a difference? Has anyone got a link to a "common failures" post. I read the buyers guide but im really after a list of things that often go wrong. I dont mind the car having things wrong or being crashed and repaired. I just want to be prepared and pay the right price. Also, These supras have a fuel cut at 1 bar? I have an old hks fuel cut defender from my starlet. Is this useable on the stock ecu? Nemesis
"Common failures" .... It's rolling slowly across the six yard box, who's going to tap it in?

safcdixon
Protons!!! Common failures? What is this you speak of? Manual tt aeros dont exsist (or do they?) from the factory so all are converted i think, add too that they dont come up for sale too often so be prepared to wait, tbh we dont get any decent wheather to justify taking the roof off anyway just get a hardtop and put the windows down Yeah the fuel cuts at 1bar but a fuelcut defender sorts this, on the stock ecu too
Nemesis
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?282611-How-to-devalue-a-Supra! Common failures. Hello and welcome by the way.
Supra Gaz
Welcome, these are very very reliable cars if looked after. Good luck with your search
Dnk
The mkiv now has a long list of parts that fail due to age mileage and or a lack of being looked after. Heater matrix, radiator, ac rad, smic, brake calipers, brake lines, fuel lines, front cross member, suspension arm bushes, dampers, crank pulleys, front crank seals, engine hoses, vac hoses, turbo's, etc etc etc Judge each car you look at on its own merits and finding out whats been replaced is a must in my opinion or you'll be getting a shock in the near future.
