Branners
Hi folks, I'm thinking about buying a Top Secret style bonnet with the big air vents on it, but I'm worried about water getting on to the engine and making a mess. My car spends most of its life in the garage so it is not a huge issue, but I dont want the engine bay any messier than it already is. How bad are the bonnets for letting water on to the engine, and is there a way to stop the water getting there and funnel it somewhere else. TheTurtleshead
Ibrar made some nice rain guards for his, take a look in his build thread mate. Burlo/Geo's old car had a TS bonnet on it, ruined the polishing!
FOSTA
Yeah I think I'm picking my bonnet up at the weekend so I was thinking the same thing! I'll take alook at ibrar's build and get some ideas on what I also need to do

Steve Paine
I fitted mine a short while ago. Now the surround of the power steering reservoir is always full of water. In addition the alternator seems to be getting quite a bit of waters on it. I had heard of Ibrars tray, but have been unable to find it. On a happier note I don't think it has caused any problems! Just needs drying off every so often? My Tein strut brace no longer fits though!
FOSTA
Will the bonnet close with the stock fan shrowd? Cheers
Steve Paine
Yes fits fine with that. I can't upload the photos here as they are too large, but if you give me your e mail address I will show photos of set up, Steve

Steve Paine
Thanks Ibrar. I was considering something like that or using half pipe as a catch gutter pushing it to a type of down pipe at the side, but your system seems easier to construct! Steve Paine
Didn't want to restrict the vent too much, but it would look a bit like an assembly of Macdonald straws!
