l.chris97
Just orderd my new rims today .. they are custom rims so i dont know the offsets but they are 18x9.5 front and 18x 11 rear and are going on a standard bodied prefacelift (no rolled arches either)...just a question on the tyre size i need..i have seen the quides on sizes on here but am i jumping the gun by trying to order tires before the wheels come as i dont know the offset so that makes it harder to judge the space available for the tyres... Also can people leave a few susgestions on tires they would recommend..i want a good all round preforming tire. Thanks guys.
listy
You're buying wheels, not knowing the offsets? However.....off the top of my head....275-295/35/18 Edited January 7, 2013 by listy (see edit history)
Swampy442
Tyres Think you might struggle to fit 18x11 on a stock body, especially as you dont know the offset. There was a calculator on the forum somewhere but Ill be damned if I can find it now.
l.chris97
You're buying wheels, not knowing the offsets? However.....off the top of my head....275-295/35/18 The company making them has done loads of supras so he uses his custom offsets for all standard supras...i have asked him but hes on holidays at the min so hasnt got back to me yet with the offsets he is using. listy
If they will fit nicely (which if your man has done a few sets, should do) then the sizes I posted originally are what you should look for I think. garethr
Calculator http://powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi IIRC, the standard sizes are 235/45-17, 255/40-17.
listy
255 is for a 10" wheel Oh the size I put up is for the rears only. So front would be (between) 235-255/40/18 Rears would be (between) 275-295/35/18 Also just realised, i think you will struggle to get full lock without rubbing on the fronts with stock arches on 9.5 wheels. l.chris97
I've kinda asked all them questions...he was trying to get me to go with a 10 front and 11 rear...and promised a perfect fit and that he never had any issues with those sizes on supras before....but i pulled it back to 9.5 because i didnt feel the need for a 10 on the front and if he though a 10 was ok a 9.5 would give me that little bit more scope.. Gaz6002
I'd have asked for the tyres to be fitted to the wheels before delivery.

l.chris97
I'd have asked for the tyres to be fitted to the wheels before delivery. I still can ask but since there in the states the choice of tyres they show on there website isnt great..and the extra carraige for 4 tyres is a bit excessive..i will email him and ask what he will do as a package deal. Dnk
Have a look here, these are pretty close to being the cheapest in the country but you have to add fitting cost http://www.camskill.co.uk

Dnk
cheers mate No problem. You don't need to spend all your budget to get decent tyres on your car, i am trying the Avon ZZ3's on mine and i'm quite happy with how their performing and their pretty cheap compared to most, even cheaper than Falkens

l.chris97
thinking on either Pilot Sport 2's or 3's not to sure on the major differance in the two.....i'd love to run r888's but i can justify the price vs wear rate esp for only been bpu
ghostbuster
What about tyre pressure difference front and rear with low profile wide boot rear, not so wide front?
Dnk
On the stock UK 17's which are 8" fronts and 9.5" rears the front and rear pressures are the same
hackin_n_bashin
What didn't you like about them ? Found them twitchy in the damp, never felt like I could trust them. On the other hand really loved them in the front?! Only from my own bum dyno, but preferred the bridgestones, and loved the yokohamas, but can't remember the model names from the top of my head!
