Dan_Q
Hi All, I've had a search but could have missed something. Does anyone know of any re-useable type rear ARB droplinks that are available for the MK4? IE ones that have through bolts and nuts on polybushes sort of thing, rather than the easily damaged standard allen / hex and nut type. Thanks in advance Dan. Dnk
Demon Tweeks Search drop links on http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk Whiteline universal are £104 You could easily make your own but the spherical joints for something decent are going to be around £20 each Edited January 7, 2013 by Dnk (see edit history)
Chris Wilson
I can make these, but I would want to use good quality rod ends, which means they'll be a LOT dearer than stock ones, but will be adjustable for preload removal. I will tell you with certainty, ones made with cheap rod ends WILL knock sooner than stock links. Good rod ends are EXPENSIVE. I have made them for loads of cars. I think dnk's price for good rod ends is optimistic.
Dnk
Agreed their cheap but if you go to teflon coated all singing and dancing your probably into £50 each if not more. For road use i personally wouldn't bother and fit o/e drop links which will probably last longer than even the much more expensive rod ends. Chris Wilson
You are far better off with new stock links, the Whiteline stuff is very low end, they'll use cheap rod ends. As one offs about £130 per link with pretty decent rod ends, from me, on car adjustable for length (LH and RH joints).
