d-_-b
No problem mate, just trying to help. This thread has been brilliant! I would have bottled it along time ago if it wasn't for everyone's advice! Brilliant! This was exactly what I had hoped this thread would become, between that and the Club section I wanted it to really provide some great, useful and 1st hand experience/insight into the NA-T route. Am stoked its becoming what it is and how it's helping out us NA-T'ers! I would like abit of information on clutches thought.. What's everyone using? I have a fidanza lightweight flywheel that i would prefer to keep if possible? Is something I am still looking into at the moment.. May be good is NA-T peeps could list what they are using and what transmission they have? e.g . "Example Member" - "Clutch brand / Model" - "W58" Maybe even a quick summary in regards to what its like to use - e.g. "bit 'juddery' to pull off", "feels almost like stock, no judder, slightly heavier on clutch" If all the NA-T guys here think they could do that this would be excellent!! - Finding a clutch that dosn't judder on pull off is something that personally interests me as I use the car through town and here there is quite often traffic. Something else for the Club area as well then if we get a good list!
Caineoo
I have my eyes on the (whifbitz shop) spec stage 4, 4 puck which is apparently a good intermediate between smooth engagement and lightness. Not having used it yet I can't give any feedback yet. (w58 gearbox) Also if anyone needs a standard w58 clutch I have one with sub 3k miles on. Edited January 30, 2013 by Caineoo edit. pjavon
I fitted a stage 2 competition clutch from Whifbitz on my W58, it's handled 2 mapping sessions without any problems up to now (and one of the mappers even commented on how well it held on through out the day). I did make sure it had a fair few miles on the clock BEFORE any power was put through it as is advised in the instructions. The clutch is lovely and light compared to the one that was fitted when I was NA and has no judder at all, this was a must for me hence why I took the chance on a stage 2. Fly
I think, I say think as I have no indication otherwise I have a stock clutch on my v161 very smooth and grabs really well when launching
d-_-b
Cheers Paul (what power is your car putting out btw? ) The list starts! NA-T members clutches: 1. pjavon - x bhp - W58 - Competition Clutch Stage 2 "handled 2 mapping sessions without any problems up to now (and one of the mappers even commented on how well it held on through out the day). d-_-b
I've added a clutch section on the club na-t group Cheers dude - have popped a post in the thread I will keep a thread running through in here as well, as ahve found a lot of the guys come into this thread more often than visiting the Club area when it comes to posting info up - might adjust the title to show we are running a question in relation to cluthces actually... If we can gather the info from the thread here and then put all this info then into the Club NA-T section, we have a decent store of all the info we find out So with your update in there dude; NA-T members clutches: 1. pjavon - x bhp - W58 - Competition Clutch Stage 2 "handled 2 mapping sessions without any problems up to now (and one of the mappers even commented on how well it held on through out the day). I did make sure it had a fair few miles on the clock BEFORE any power was put through it as is advised in the instructions. The clutch is lovely and light compared to the one that was fitted when I was NA and has no judder at all, this was a must for me hence why I took the chance on a stage 2." 2. Noz - 373bhp - W58 - Competition Clutch Stage 5 Installed before NA-t and run while NA. Holds well, enabled some nice 2nd gear wheel spins. NOT smooth compared to the OEM, easy to stall if your not careful. Runs 373hp ok. But after nearly a year of use, hard starts don't feel as grippy as they once did. Competition Lightweight flywheel Found this definitely increases the rev range faster. Would definitely recommend though I didn't compare before and after I can't comment on any actual performance gains. It felt like it picked up quicker. buster
I'm so close to getting the mapping done Any na-t guys up and running. DodgyRog
I know I am TT, but I have the Whifbitz 3+ in my 5-speed, it's like stock in feel, but slight judder at the bite point

Who did your mapping and how good do you feel they are I don't want to just give it to some monkey to do it P.m. dr_jekyll, alias Craig recommends somewhere new had opened and were good with N/A-T but I can't remember who/where? He's near Newport. Where in the Devon are you? and how far will you go? There's a link to a video of Craig's 500 bhp N/A-T dyno-run, and another of a high-speed tunnel-run in it after mapping, both are on the A343/0E Hybrid Transmission Group video page, there's a link to it in the Drive-Train section of 'my garage'. It's not called "The Labyrinth" for nothing. The studious path is a resource of Supra 2JZA80-GE Go-Faster information. Or be random and follow the 'magic-finger'. ScottC
Thread hijack! Could someone post up a link to the NA-T guide someone posted up a few months ago, I've searched high and low for it. Ta
Fly
Think all the na-t guides were in club na-t build threads. If you have access that is.
Tsia
Definitely a potential NA-T once I've sold off some previous parts from my MR2 - how do I go about getting in the group? I'll be purchasing a proper account once I feel a bit more flush (only bought the Supra today!)
