Guest Adz666 Posted January 6, 2013 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Right after taking a verbal beating about a welded diff I have sourced a nice LSD from an old friend, so today I tried to remove my diff, I took the ring of Allen bolts off the drive shafts where they connect to the diff, I unbolted the 3 bolts going onto the prop shaft,then the 2 mounting bolts, then the fun started, the shafts were stuck solid to the diff, so I had to completely remove the hub unit and give it a big tug, it freed it's self but then after a few hours of swearing I realised I don't have a 12mm allen key to for where it connects to the sub frame,. That's where I'm up to, now can someone explain if I'm doing something wrong, am I gonna have to remove anything else or am I on the home run ??? Please help me !! Pig Posted January 6, 2013 Share Posted January 6, 2013 By memory you have the large allen key bolts across the back, the 2 main ones either side, the driveshafts and the prop. antno Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 Remove the Anti roll bar to get the 12mm Allen bolts out. Unbolt drive shafts. 3 bolts onto prop plus the the bar that goes under the prop so you can lower the diff enough to slide the prop off. 2 bolts on the ears. chazuk Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 As mark said leave the anti roll bar unless the drop links have been off recently you will be buying new ones just find the correct size allen key and slide it up inbetween and use a small pole as a lever, you did not need to undo the hub nut the drive shafts pull back just enough to get them out of the diff normally easiest I find in the upwards motion as others have said support the diff Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
