shaz2010
Can't seem to put my finger on it but there's a strange noise coming from underneath the car middle/rear! when driving slow then accelerating when the first turbo comes in the noise sounds and is like the noise that comes from when you blow into a beer bottle ! ( like a deep tone whistle ) the noise isn't there all the time just the odd time and disappears when i Accelerate past a certin rpm. It's definitely not coming from the front of the car or engine. I'm changing the diff oil on Wednesday to see if this is the cause of it! Come to think of it I can't recall it happening before I change my exhaust to aftermarket from standard (cat back) .... Help Thanks Shareef Edited January 5, 2013 by shaz2010 (see edit history)

pbryant_knight
Could just be a noise from the exhaust mate, boost or not. Mine has a similar intermittent noise sometimes from the exhaust. Could just be that. Peter

shaz2010
Well I changed the diff oil and also engine oil and filter while the car was on the ramp! And the noise is no longer there just wondering if the oil had ran its course as it was pretty thin. Don't think I've got any previous paper work for it being changed in the past. There was a little bit of grey gunge/filings on the end of the drain plug Edited January 12, 2013 by shaz2010 (see edit history)
listy
Glad it's sorted dude There weren't "chunks" of metal were there in the oil? Hope not.
dan294
My standard recirc dump valve used to make a noise similar to what you describe. Not all the time though.

I mate it was coming from the middle/rear of the car so that sort of pulled it away from the engine side. I just hope it doesn't come back .
