Bob
Have you tried contacting turbo technics or AET? From what I've gleaned, stage 2 hybrids will have larger turbine and compressor wheels which should be good for another 100bhp or so (according to AET). JohnA
I would enquire if either of the aforementioned establishments provide compressor maps for their various specially designed hybrids. That would be the first port of call in my view.
Guest Terry S
Right the stages were started by Leon Green @ JPS Motorsport. Anyone else selling them in stages as just copied the name etc. The Stages simply refer to the size of compressor wheel that has been squeezed into the stock housing. AFAIK the hot side of the turbo is as standard but some may change it. Also in some turbo's the wastegate flap has been enlarge to try to reduce the boost spiking. It helps but doesnt cure. I think they all run 360 degree bearings.
Dragonball
Hybrided turbos can be made to the specification that you desire (obviously within confines of the existing phsical size) - and as Terry says the terms 1/2/3 were used before to associate with various performance criteria Near stock - less lag Much enlarge - higher lag Depends if you require pseudo UK spec spooling (same sizes but metal fins etc) or higher end performance (approx 50HP increase) through boring out All mine are 360, balanced and warranties supplied
