Kaan W
Well after recieving my drag wheels today it seems I need to raise the rear end of the car about 3" for them to fit in the arch and give enough clearance to allow the car to squat without them rubbing. My coilovers are adjustable but I cant seem to turn them to give me more height. I have the car jacked up and wheel off but do I need spring compressors so they can be easily turned? Steve Paine
Mate, once the veh is jacked up there should be no stress on the spring and you should be able to adjust easily. What coil overs have you got?

What coil overs have you got? BC Racing coilovers mate. It seems once jacked up and wheels off the coilovers push the arm or whatever it is all the way down so it cant go no further, in other words the spring needs compressing.. Guest aspire
do you not wind the sleeve when the coilover is off the vehicle? this is what sets the height, the spring is the firmness..

Is this what you mean? Supra Gaz
Funny, I was doing this today on my HKS coilovers, I jacked it up, wheel off etc, then I used a spring compressor to take the pressure off the nut, un did the locking but then wound down the height but to the desired height then locked it back up. I tried it without sprig compressors and it wouldn't budge for the life of me. Hope this helps

Hope this helps I think ive figured it mate, the height adjustments at the bottom of the coilover and the locking plates under the spring just sets spring stiffness. Not sure if HKS are the same or not but I havent actually had a look myself yet but there should be a ring at the bottom you undo then twist the whole thing. Swampy442
Correct, on that type of damper the upper locking collars control the the spring preload.
