liam1
my supra has spent most of this year under a stormforce car cover managed today to get the cover off to find the discs quite badly rusted not the worst problem in the world a good few drives should hopefully sort them failing that new discs, worst thing is parts of the rear spoiler and rear passenger side wing are both covered in tiny little blisters looks like the car has goose bumbs can anything be done or will they need painting. Dnk
Waste of money in my opinion, they cause more problems than they solve. The only type worth having outdoors is the carcoon.

I agree no complaints here, had storm force before still made car dirty no point. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?195025-Carcoon-system&highlight=Jazz1+carcoon

When I take mine off, it's a clean as a whistle. Liam1, didn't your car have painted recently? After my NA had been painted I got moisture behind the paint and it had to be re-done. This was 8 months after the original job in May.
antno
It's usually when the moisture freezes according to the body shop I use. Think it's called micro blistering. Happend to my car the first winter after the car was imported. It was on one if my wings and my spoiler. I repainted the spoiler but apparently somtimes you can fix it with a heat gun on low temp. It's not a permanent fix. It will need repainting at some point.
mplavery
is that the same if the car is stored in a garage? As long as your garage is not damp etc you should be fine

I just use the cover to stop it from getting so dusty.

After my NA had been painted I got moisture behind the paint and it had to be re-done. This was 8 months after the original job in May. Mine did not not go completely over my wheels might be due to kit, the wind use to blow all the dirty on a rainy day making half the part where t was not covered dirty. Carcoon means full cover, no dirt, clean car and less hassle cleaning etc, personally if you don't have a garage for me it's the best investment. Abz
Ok thats good lol. No garage isnt damp and can fit about 20 cars in there, by garage I meant workshop. I just use the cover to stop it from getting so dusty. The main issue from using covers outdoor is the change in temperature, humidity etc, then wind can cause the rubbing off the paint from the car cover though nothing a polish can't sort out. I used a car cover a few times though when I had my car detailed by Stonkin he advised against using it. He advised it is better to ensure the paint is protected from the elements with a decent coat of wax and leave it outside than leave it for ages under a car cover as the paint needs to breath IIRC. Good luck on sorting out fella.
Nikue
Brake discs will be fine after some spirited driving. I have heard of covers that allow moisture to exit but I cant understand how that works. Agreed with the fact that your better off without a cover and just give it a good wax before hand and keep an eye out for bird poop.
