supra_ufo
wheels and dials look great looking forward to seeing your car this Monday. It was nice to meet you and your (lucky) son mate. A big thanks to Iky and his brother for helping me (more like doing the majority of the work) with the BPU mods. I have a full custom exhaust (thanks to MattP) with 1st and 2nd decat and RR and upgraded spark plugs. I have yet to fit the FCD, Fuel pump. The car is something else now! I let off the gas (no jokes) just before 1 bar as I didnt want to hit this brick wall with the fuel cut..... Its crazy to think some of you are driving cars with well over 400bhp. Anyway I had to get this update off my chest. I'll post pics tomorrow :-) Edited September 1, 2013 by supra_ufo (see edit history)

Cheers Calum, the car could do with a respray in areas (if not all) but once its polished it does stand out. Skippy, I am very happy with the autobox at the moment, maybe one day I will put a manual box in if I go single. With TTC it comes on around 3k and at 4k there is a mass of power. I still dont understand the gearbox, when I stamp on the pedal I expect a drop in gear and a kickdown, but sometimes it doesnt always kickdown, it just goes through the rev and boosts. I need to analyse it properly and make notes.

Yh mine does the same I thought its odd it doesn't kick down, thats the main thing that's making me stay sequential so I have boost earlier if it doesent kickdown, but I suppose its easy enough to try so I might aswell give it a try if I don't like it I can always un do it
Kirk
Are you actually pushing the kick down button underneath the pedal?
supra_ufo
Are you actually pushing the kick down button underneath the pedal? Is this a noob trap? lol
Kirk
It's a genuine question. At the bottom of the pedal stroke you come to the stop, well if you push the pedal whilst on the stop you depress the kickdown switch and the box kicks down. supra_ufo
The following day I went for a spirited drive around my local area and I was thoroughly enjoying the noise the car was making and the performance, it was addictive! I took my DSLR with me and managed to take some shots but the sun was low so the pictures came out dark. Here are a selection of pictures taken on that day.. supra_ufo
Fitted the FCD in a few weeks later thanks to Iky, I could fully boost the car to its max which was 1.2 bar without worrying about it cutting the fuel. The car was currently in TTC, Im finding I was running out of road alot. When I got home I switched it over to the stock sequential and went for a drive, even with the decats it wasn’t boosting above 0.8, it was an improvement compared to 0.6 I was getting before but it should be over 1bar. One of the VSVs had to be damaged so I spent the following weeks diagnosing and sourcing parts. Purchased some spare parts from a member on the forum but I went on holiday for 3 weeks, when I got back I still didn’t have a parcel The member had some personal issues so waited a few more weeks but it was worth it as the first VSV I changed resolved the boost issue in the stock sequential mode :-) The car felt alot better BPU’ed in this stock form compared to TTC. I had alot more power lower down as the 1st turbo was coming in at 2k and the 2nd coming in at 4k. I can understand why some people use TTC, it’s more similar to a single turbo and probably more economical as the turbos come in at 4k..... I prefer the stock sequential turbo behaviour though POWER Edited March 25, 2014 by supra_ufo (see edit history)

skippyboyo1
I got back from shooting a friends wedding earlier and needed to drive the supra as the new leash of power was addictive. I decided to take my camera equipment with me, I had to work fast as the daylight was going!! Updates:I got some new badges from the anniversary fitted by the man working at the stall. New wheels, painted callipers (as seen from anniversary), and nuts. HID and refurb headlamps and DRL.
