suprakid95
So today i was fooling around with my supra, and while making a video to trace a problem, i was revving it all the way to 6500rpms. My car is 93' TT auto, and its bone stock, nothing special on it. And while revving it, i noticed that i revved it once to 2500rpms, let off then revved it again and held on it, and the car was sitting at around 5500 rpms sitting there building boost, and then i let off and it revved to 6500rpms ( i didnt go past that). Is this an option on the JDM supra's or do i have an aftermarket ecu or something? or is something wrong with my car?
marc_p
Mine has a faulty VSV and it causes that, I can rev it at standstill and it almost sounds like launch control. Does yours fail to boost if you knock it down a gear that puts it at 4500rpm or above?
suprakid95
nope, mine works perfectly, its automatic, and if i floor it and it drops a gear boosts fine, you can feel the kick from both turbo's. But this 2 step's got me wondering
Pig
If I remember correctly this is correct on autos to stop you damaging the car by revving an unloaded engine. These cars should always be treated very carefully
