masterfett
I was told by the previous owner 'Yulia' that she'd spent 40k on the car, i since have spent 30k. So 30k + Yulia's 40k + Cost of car and we are talking 100k..! LOL doesn't feel like that though when you do it up bit by bit though..! LOL i did a similar thing with my 300zx (not 40k mind) however enough .. it was lovely .. sold for a fraction of what it owed me .. my personal opinion is that prices wont go up for a long while .. especially seems i have seen Supras better spec'd than mine go for less than what i paid this time last year. So in a nutshell... treat it like gambling.. invest only what you are willing to loose
350bhp
i think prices will not go up for a long time due to recession people losing jobs , then theres insurance and running costs etc, the car market is on its arse its a nightmare trying to sell bloody awesome if you are a buyer plus hard times have it alot of people financially. as an example a car can be up for sale for £8000 give it 6 to 8 months the seller might drop to 7- 7500, someone makes an offer at 6 to 6500, most sellers will be very tempted knowing that car could spend another few thousand months on the driveway:giveup: also there is the breaking route we all know how that works lol there are the few cars which sell at full price but it all depends on how much that buyer wants your car etc the funny thing is most people will know deep down how much effort someone has put into building their car and still want to pay next to nothing or another way of explaining your selling your car at £10000 i bet most people would want to put down only between 7000 to 8000 or even a cheeky 6500 and yes it is an insult to most people because you know you are going to say wtf my car has had a full rebuild and polybush suspension turbo respray etc and i spent over 20,000 grand but at the end of the day the buyer will only pay what he has to offer anyway my guess is another 2 to 3 years before prices to start going back up
markg1150
dont think the prices will ever go back up. you can go faster for less and have newer car that will cost less to run. so thats were the young money goes plus its a generation thing aswell the people who love want these cars are typicaly from the supra/skyline/evo/scoob generation (30ish). and where all tend to be stuck with kids/morgage/recession. by the time thats sorted are backs wont let us get down to get in and out. happened to my dad by the time he could get his e type he couldnt get in and out off it lol. plus the turbo models are typically coming up on 100k miles 15 year old bodys, which means even though supras are tuff there gonna need some money and work throwing at them. (if it moves it wears out, fact) which again a newer car wont as much/not for a while. so there only worth the smile they put on your face. me id only pay 5.5k max these days for any type of turbo and it would have to be mint and fairly stockish, i LOVE add heywoods beast its perfect example off a modded/emaculate car but i cant understand why some one would buy it if that makes sense. (sorry add!) thinks the best use for them now would be as stripped out cheap track day cars

Scooter
That might only be you though, plenty of people have a lot of money to spend, it is not all doom and gloom as the media portrays Also any other car you know that costs less than £17k, has a RELIABLE 700bhp+ and still looks this good? I agree with all of the above however most of those with 17K+ will be perfectly happy and would rather have, something newer with say 250-300bhp and that their peer group actually recognise what it is and that it's nice/sweet/classy etc. The Supra was always a niche market and there are I believe less reasons to attract in the new buyers so that leaves those who have always liked them but never quite taken the plunge and a few returnees....the rest of us already have one! Great cars but difficult to shift right now.
listy
Mines 20 this year, and the only thing to go is the front crank seal. Newer cars are horrible and plastic inside, and without too much spending, you can completely modernise the interior, and with some help from heckler, the rear lights. And I know of at least a dozen (I know it's not many in the great scheme of things) owners on here, that are around the 25/26 mark, if not younger. So the 30 ish remark is utter bull plop. I know most owners are of that age, but more and more younger owners are emerging. Good for the market, maybe not, but the more that get trashed, the more ours will be worth later. Add, I love your beast
