Noz
Evening all. If I run a direct 12v to the dash on the illumination circuit, will I need to use any resistors? Had a light failure, and having to install a new relay circuit as the old one for some reason isn't having any power reach the relay. I can install a new relay using the side light as a trigger and a new 12v feed, but worried a 12v direct won't have any resistors or components further down the line to earth and the current will cook the bulbs. All help appreciated. Thanks

Chris Wilson
No, they'll be fine if stock bulbs. The dimmer rheostat gives battery voltage when on max.
Noz
Thanks Chris I'll wire in a direct feed. Problem re-solved.
pbryant_knight
If you're using EL glo dials, you'd be best to wire it in somehow after the dimmer for the dials. I didn't do that for mine and wired it in pre dimmer and even on full brightness, they aren't as bright as when i had them on test on a 12v battery. peter
