Kaan W
Hi all, just a quick question as I dont think my airbags are connected up anyway as the airbag light has been on since buying the car, I was thinking of swapping my passenger side airbag with the upper glovebox as it looks alot better imo. Firstly how do I remove this without it blowing up in my face? Is it easy to replace with the upper glove box and is this a common mod? Thanks. Dim Sum
I never replaced the passenger side airbag or swapped it for the upper glove box, as I keep the airbag but I replaced the stock steering steering wheel a celica wheel with airbag and all I did was disconnect the battery and everything is fine. Tyson
Disconnect battery, wait about 15 mins to make sure there is no residual charge then remove. That's how I did the one in my ZR anyway.
Guigsy
I wouldn't bother. Removing a safety feature is mad if you ask me. And besides. The upper glove box is ugly as sin. And next to useless size wise. I don't think it's even big enough to fit many cd's in. The warning light is probably on because someone has put the key in the ignition while the dash pannels are removed. My car is like this. You can reset it with the diag port in the engine bay in a few mins. It will save you time. Hastle, money and maybe someone you care for's life. You have to connect a few pins with wire and alternate to another pin every second or so for 5 secs I think. Something similar to that.
