Sakey
After some inbred has decided the Supe would look better with a scratch down the side for Christmas I'm considering getting a proximity alarm fitted as i now have to park it on a side street. What are peoples experience with them, are they more likely just to draw more unwanted attention or do they count as an OK deterrent? Stephendjb
Chirps that often even on a quiet street you soon start to ignore it
kokoro
Cats are very good at setting these off....
Dim Sum
I have this installed, its fine I personally think. I have the Clifford mkll concept, plus you could always adjust the sensor if it is too sensitive.
ellis
Does anyone take any notice of car alarms anyway? The immobiliser and tracker are probably a better bet.

DaveR
It can be quite irritating, but does alert you to when you ought to be casting a glance outside your window...
chris2o2
A car constantly chirping in a street would be a prime target for the local 'yoofs' i would have thought .
Dim Sum
A car constantly chirping in a street would be a prime target for the local 'yoofs' i would have thought . You have a point. But mine is on the drive way so if it goes off it means its worth having a look. I guess this is has useful as remote start:D
Rob_Mitchell
There used to be a car around the corner with "step away from the car" being voiced when you got near it!! made us want to get near it more and more!
Stephendjb
Is there no way you van set up a camera to watch it? I have a CCTV camera trained on where I normally park mine when it isn't in he garage & a 19" flat screen on shelf near the normallly telly to watch it with. mellonman
i find it usefull being that my car had a emobilizer but that still didnt stop some chav trying to nick it by doing all my door locks, so i thought whats the point having a alarm that goes off once the damage has been done , yes they are anouing at times but pros out way the cons for me
DaveR
If your car is parked on the street then a proximity alarm is probably of limited use for all the reasons mentioned already; if it's on private property then it's definitely worth it. Besides, if you ever park up somewhere other than your own place, you can always temporarily disable it at the push of a button. Well, 3 buttons...!
