Blitz SBC Spec S vs Spec R boost controller

Hi all,

I have a question regarding the Blitz 'spec S' DSBC boost controller. Has anyone with a standard twin turbo used a spec S instead of the recommended spec R to control boost. If so, i would like to know how it performs or if it is safe for the sequential turbo setup.

I am just hesitating installing the spec S DSBC into my car because the manual states that the spec S is not recommended for 'high boosting sequential turbo setups'..So my question is what is meant by 'high boosting'.

If anyone could provide some opinions/advices it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Clint

I would suggest if the manual says 'not suitable for 'high boosting sequential turbo setups'' then no.

I'd go with what's recommended.

Not the most helpful terms in the manual :-(

OEM boost levels are rarely over 1bar...so at a guess I'd say its probably ok on bpu. If the actuator unit is the same on both then it's a processing/control limitation...which means it won't have the finesse and flexibility of the R system. It may also be the pressure sensor is lower spec so it cannot read above 1.5bar.

The latter makes most sense for a reason why its limited. But where the limit is is up for discussion unless someone can find those details.
