Kaan W Posted December 19, 2012 Share Posted December 19, 2012 Seems an odd question but does anyone else have a wire coming out the top of there diagnostics box? I have not seen this before but it was like it when I bought the car and havent got a clue what its for. Its just annoying me as it looks kind of messy and the wire just goes to the back of the engine somewhere but dont know if its to stop any lights flashing etc from aftermarket parts fitted. supra900bhp Posted December 19, 2012 Share Posted December 19, 2012 i got a clifford alarm with remote start and the fitter has got 1 wire going into mine now that was never there before so can only think its something to do with the immobiliser best take a good look before removing hope it helps? Ah thats probably it then mate as I have a clifford remote start too. Thinking about it, it goes through the firewall in to the car so it most definately is that! Ian C Posted December 21, 2012 Share Posted December 21, 2012 That's the TACH signal, i.e. revs. If it's to do with remote start then it probably cuts the engine if the revs get higher than idle, i.e. someone is trying to drive off with the car.
