supra joe
Well I know it doesn't go from D to 1 lol, a tyre blowout and I pulled the shifter back and mashed the diff !
Ross C
I'll be the sensible one. Shifting between the 3 settings is just like using a 3 speed manual gearbox for accelerating and engine braking. The only damage it does is general wear and tear from abusing it, but its not going to go up in a puff of smoke anytime soon

ellis
Brake pads are cheaper than gearboxes is what I was always told. I flick between 'D' (with OD off) and '2' when round town but wouldn't use 'L'.
SPG
I only use L when towing my caravan
Chris Wilson
Yes, of course you can, but try not to put it in an inappropriate gear for the road speed that you are doing, ESPECIALLY in Manual mode.
