starter motor problem??

Hi all...having problems sometimes when i turn the key to start my car - just makes a clicking/buzzing sound and wont turn the engine over..seems more so after the battery has run down due to the car not being run very often at the moment....After quite a few turns of the key, the car will start ok and seems fine thereafter..I'm not sure if the Toad alarm would do something like this after the battery has been disconnected..or if there could be a loose wire to the starter?..Just seems very strange.

Can the wires/connections be accessed from under the bonnet or is it from underneath the car?

Happened to me. The starter motor went. I would sometimes just get a clicking sound sometimes did it sometimes not, eventually it totally gave up the ghost. I managed to get a second hand one and all was fine after.

Someone is selling of the supra parts and I remember seeing the starter motor in there.. Worth doing that 1st

Yes, starter motor contacts, I'd put money on it. It can't really be a flat battery because then the car wouldn't start after a few attempts. It's probably explained in the link that broomie posted but Toyota sell a kit to change just the contacts, no need for a whole new starter motor.

Sorry guys, only just managed to get on here for the 1st time this week..

Thanks to everyone for your input.much appreciated.

Guess it looks like the starter motor, not just a loose lead,lol!..Think i'll have to get my car over the pit at my sons house..bit easier than lying on my back under the car this weather, lol!

Thanks again...i'll post up on here how i go on..............
