Branners
My SMIC is absolutely shot, it is also pushing my Stillen front out of shape so I need to change to a FMIC. I will only ever be on stock turbos, the car will never go single. And I wont be running more than 1.2bar boost. What FMIC would people recommend? I know Whifbitz do a FMIC kit, anybody got any experience with it? I see lots of second hand FMICs out there, but I dont want the faff of finding all the pipework too. So I'm thinking a full kit might be best. But I dont want to spend more than around £400 on it. So, what do people recommend?

Samurai 20V
If I remember correctly Pauls kit is from the same supplier as the Greddy Spec LS..
FOSTA
Troop got a intercooler kit off eBay for around £200 with all pipe work when he went bpu and it was perfect easy fit! We even kept the stock airbox
Branners
SRD 2 row 3" front mount kit! perfect and you get everything in the kit for a easy fitting job. Is the SRD one custom built for them or is it from another supplier? I have not heard much feedback about the quality on them, do many people have one fitted? Rob_Mitchell
Is the SRD one custom built for them or is it from another supplier? I have not heard much feedback about the quality on them, do many people have one fitted? Not sure. I have fitted a couple at work and also have one on my own car! the quality is brilliant and installation is nice and easy, unlike the chinese ebay rubbish. Noz
eBay intercoolers do the job, but the flow design of them probably isn't up to snuff compared with premium designs. I read a report against the poor flow dynamics of cheaper coolers once, the design effort really can improve flow. I'd go with an SRD one. spikedjack
I'm glad you've posted this as I'm in a similar position and have been considering the srd cooler. What's the fundamental differences between the near £400 srd setup over say the £200 eBay setups? Both have similar pipe work and cores so wondering if anyone can expand? Sheefa
SRD for the win. Branners I will be upgrading shortly to a 4 row SRD FMIC and therefore my Greddy 2-row FMIC which is in excellent condition with all pipe work will be available around April time. Not sure if you can wait that long if you use the car but offer is there. Won't ask for much, say £150?
James
I use the SRD 2 row 3" kit. It has been ideal to date and the quality is top notch. Well priced too.

Guest Budz86
SRD or Whifbitz kit is the way forward JB. Good quality, cheap, supports our traders and if it don't work, ban 'em!
Littler
The SRD kit is brilliant I have the 4" version on mine and the quality is excellent, very happy with it! And I couldn't half tell the extra power at the same level of boost after it was fitted lol. The 3" version will be perfect for you John and also Lee can mod it so you can keep the stock airbox

Noz
I've a large 3" cooler, be interesting to get them both sent off for a flow test?
Lee P
I havnt got any 2 rows in stock at the moment unfortunatly but I have the 3 row 4" instock I think Paul may have some uprated side mounts at the moment as well which would be good
Alex
Nic had a nice one for sale recently. 3 row I think. 2/3row is all you need with that surface area on stock twins.
Branners
Thanks Alex, I think Nic's one is a 2 row, but as you say I'm never going to push this thing hard on twins so it seems the best option.
Chris Bailey
Dads got the 4" Whifbitz FMIC, Had it since April this year. Lovely product Still going strong with near 600bhp under the bonnet
Bailey.
Used a greddy 2 row on my single as it was already on the car from being bpu, done the job fine and made 585hp at a low 1.3 bar.
Branners
Sheefa has kindly offered me their GReddy fmic with all pipe work for a great price when it comes off the car in March. So for the moment I'm going with that option. If that changes I will be back in touch with SRD and Whitbitz to see what's the best option at that point. thanks for all the advice. Branners
Sheefa is no longer taking the FMIC off their car, so I'm back in the market for one again. Anybody got a full FMIC kit they need to shift? Whifbitz and SRD, happy to see how much you can do a full kit fitted for?
