Josh
That would be impossible as the vent is built in the hump. If you build the vent in just a stock bonnet it would hit things when shut/prob wont shut. Ah, good point
Justin Bieber
Rob as these are stock underneath am i right in thinking aerocatches won't be needed?
Rob_Mitchell
Rob as these are stock underneath am i right in thinking aerocatches won't be needed? Yeah no need. Genuine doluck bonnets have been known to fly up! so you have to stenghen the hook part. As this is all stock the catches/hooks are toyota built

Justin Bieber
Can't wait to see the finished/painted pics! Do you reckon you'll finish it before the car goes back to Lee?
Rob_Mitchell
Can't wait to see the finished/painted pics! Do you reckon you'll finish it before the car goes back to Lee? Yeah Lee is very busy, so im going to drop mine off january/february time now. The bonnet will hopefully be in high build primer next week and ill leave it over the christmas period to cure off. Im currently designing a vent surround for underneath the bonnet, this will look neat!

Westy
Has there/will there be any modification to the rear of the bonnet mate...always believed the design of the DoLuck was to keep under bonnet temperatures by taking in air through the scoop which then got dispersed out of the raised centre section at the rear!? Obviously the bonnet will look awesome, but just wanted to know!?

Obviously the bonnet will look awesome, but just wanted to know!? You are right in a way mate, a genuine doluck actually has a built in vent/air direction system built under the bonnet. Its easy to explain with a pic. Mine will have some sort of vent at the back but the main aim for me on these bonnets, is to get a huge ammount of air through the front vent and into the bay. Thats more than my jspec offers me already. Plus the bonnet looks sexy!
Rob_Mitchell
Not touching the bonnet today but the fibreglass has gone off like a rock and filler work will start in the morning. Really taking shape now and you got to love the raised hump
Rob_Mitchell
Started making the underneath of the bonnet vent look tidy. I decided to scrap the idea of making a surround out of metal as its such a awkward shape. I decided to get some perspex and heat it up carefully and press around the mouth of the vent and surrounding area! similar to vaccum forming i guess. came out perfect and once all colour coded its going to look factory. This perspex panel will also hold the black mesh in too.
Rob_Mitchell
All trimmed up now, later on it will be riveted and bonded. Then flushed in to make it look stock

Rob_Mitchell
Cheers for all the positive comments. With regards to cost for these bonnets, its still in the pipeline but im going to aim for £750.00 primed ready for paint. Each bonnet is custom made. I have started filler work now, so ill post some pics later today.
