Cosworthmark02
Hi Guys, I'm sure you've had this question hundered of times but im a newbie and after searching previous posts I can't seem to find a definitive answer. My problem is as follows: Purchased a TT which has had a single conversion, (was previously a members car) it has a T70 turbo (which not many people like lol) running on standard injectors and was converted 4 years ago. I spoke to the previous owner who gave me some info, most surprising was that the Emanage blue was never connected. When I purchased it I was told it just needed mapping. I checked yesterday and can't see any lights illuminated on the ECU so am assuming that the ECU is not connected am I correct?. Is it possible that its running on a standard ECU...how safe is it to run on the original ECU, what problems could I experience? If I boot it lots the ECU light comes on. The previous owner said this was due to the perameters not being set following fitting of a Greddy electronic boost controller. If I decide to change the ECU what would be a good piggy back ECU I'm on a tight budget so a standalone is not a consideration at the mo. I have been told the Emange blue would be fine ( I'm not looking for big power I.e injectors route at the moment just reliability). Cheers, Mark. listy
Stick with the emanage blue mate. Take it somewhere like 2bartuning to get it properly fitted and mapped, job done.

Swampy442
You can run a big turbo on stock fuelling and injectors, Ive done it myself, but its certainly not recommended. What ECU light comes on, the engine warning light? You must hit boost cut then, unless you have a boost cut defender? If you do and theres no boost limit you'll be into potential engine ruining situations very quickly! You need more knowledge about your current set up before you start boosting about. Wez
Stop booting it T70 on stock fueling with no fuel control, its a testament to Toyota that its not sat at the side of the road in bits.
Cosworthmark02
Thanks for the advice guys. I'm gong to book it in with FC Tuning at Ware who will connect the ECU and tune it. I just want it running safely until I can sort injectors turbo etc. It does have a Greddy electronic boost controller which is set to low boost 0.7 bar so hopefully won't over boost. Ian C
The E-Manage Blue is a bit of a nightmare to suss out if you've never encountered one before, make sure they know what they are doing with it It's not the software that's complex, it's the concepts it uses to tune the fuelling.
