Any know how to find out which ABS sensor is faulty on a 97 celica, i bridged the diagnostic port tc and e1 to find a fault code and the only thing that happens is the abs light stays on and the airbag light flashes steady, would the airbag light be the fault code light? If it is i understand that there is no fault and is probably dirty sensors

As above.....

1. Remove the ABS short pin in the diagnostic connector.

2. Use a jumper wire over Tc and E1

Codes are:

11 - Open circuit in ABS solenoid relay circuit

12 - Short in ABS solenoid relay circuit

13 - Open circuit in ABS motor relay circuit

14 - Short circuit in ABS motor relay circuit

21 - Open or short in solenoid circuit from right front wheel

22 - " " " left front wheel

23 - " " " right rear wheel

24 - " " " left rear wheel

31 - Right front wheel speed sensor signal malfunction

32 - Left front " " " "

33 - Right rear " " " "

34 - Left rear " " " "

41 - Low battery positive voltage

51 - Pump motor is locked / Open in pump motor ground

ALWAYS ON - ECU malfunction / Abnormally high battery positive voltage

To clear codes:

1. With short pin removed and jumper wire in place across Tc and E1, turn ignition to ON position

2. Depress brake pedal 8 or more times within 3 seconds

3. Check that warning lamp shows normal code (blinks once every 0.5 seconds)

4. Remove jumper wire and replace short pin
