Ceased brake caliper

Hi guys,

I've recently bought a 98 vvti Supra and I have a lot to learn but just wonderd if you can help me with this particular thing first.

The rear right hand brake caliper has stuck on and the rear discs on both sides don't look that healthy, should I be looking at replacement like for like parts or looking at upgrading? I dont have money to burn but want the car to be right so I can enjoy it.

Also does anyone know of a good garage to get to know in the Fleet (Hampshire) area if I need performance parts or work carried out. I want to do some stuff myself to get to know the car but I know my limits too.

Thanks in advance.

I've jacked up the back when it was in neutral and the right rear was solid but the left spun happily. There's plenty of wear on the pads on the left but it's metal to metal on the right.

Thanks very much for this info I'll have a closer look tomorrow in the day light and see what calipers are on there.

If their the smaller type 2 piston 1 piston known as j spec brakes the cheapest upgrade is to fit the

4 piston 2 piston brakes commonly known as UK spec which will cost around £1100 for brand new

calpers, discs and pads for the front and rear.
