Guest fitzy
FYI. I had warning lights (all of them, incl red triangle) flickering intermittently with no particular condition prompting them, just random. Someone suggested I check alternator wires (plug in back of alternator.) I reached in there and to my surprise the plug was not pushed fully home. I pushed it in until it clicked then test drove - no more problem. I mention this because mechanic had replaced alternator prior to me purchasing car, also replaced battery, I noticed that positive clamp wasn't tight either! The moral - mechanics are pretty good, but not infallible. Check their work every time.

golfvr6er
check the wires going to the plugs for the coil packs. they have wee gray plastic parts that hold the wires in place. with the engine heating up and cooling down and them being under the plastic cover on the top of the head they cause problems. mine was doing the same thing. hope that helps.
