nemo_arta
Hi guys i thought my gearbox oil was low as reverse takes about 3-4 minutes to reverse however without starting the car I checked the dipstick and its got plenty. Does the car need to be warm and then check gearbox oil levels or is reverse on its way out? When i boot the car and have my foot down the car judders when it changes gear and sometimes seems like its doest want to change and almost over revs! Thanks guys
tomgeer
When was the last time you changed the oil in the box?, If its not been done in ages i'd try and flush out whats in the sump and put fresh oil in, if it helps at all then do a full flush, hopefully a cheap(ish) fix
Swampy442
Take it you checked the fluid while the engine was running? Sounds to me like the filter is blocking and needs changing or cleaning.
Dnk
Run the engine and select all the gears then pop into N and check the level, also have a look and see what colour the ATF is, it should be a nice cherry red colour. If you want to replace the fluid totally then i think its a box out job
