ok not sure if this it the right section for this but here goes.

Long story short bought a supra at the weekend and the cd player and Ariel were having issues so pulled the dash out to find that the wires had been split and butchered some into into the cd player and others re directed to under the passenger seat where they were then twisted together with more wires and lots of speaker cable then returned to the head unit!!a rather pointless exercise i thought.

Anyway the confusing part is that the re directed wires seem to be a factory toyota part but neither of my last 2 supras had this item heres a link to pics the first 4 pics on the page are said item

Are they the wires that go to a stock amp? Iirc they live under the seat.

If they removed the stock amp, then twisting the wires together would be a easy (but rubbish) way of bypassing it.

indeed the perpetrator should be slapped hard!that pic just shows the toyota part there's a pile of other wires still lying on the garage floor must be at least 12 wires all twisted or scotch locked at both ends!! any way my issue is i now have a new head unit in place but there's no wiring to connect it to just wondering if there's another part i need
