Rob_Mitchell
Hey guys! Does anyone know if the metal water pipe which runs around the back of engine can be changed without taking the engine out
TheTurtleshead
Probably, drop the gearbox down and slide it out down the tunnel. It would be an arse without removing the intake manifold itself first, which is also an arse
Rob_Mitchell
Looks like ill just have to bite the bullet and take my engine and box out again!! PITA LMAO
TheTurtleshead
TBH Roberto, fitting twins with the engine in the car would be the biggest arse of them all! So your best bet is to remove it and stick it on a stand. This will also give you the opportunity to clean all the nooks and crannies you can't get too, which we all know you love. Ohh and btw, can I have the blank from your second oil feed plz? I'll need it for my car. You can post it to me along with my rad clamps that i'll never see again! Rob_Mitchell
Anyone else have any ideas? surely the pipe will come out either from the top or drop it out the bottom?
Scooter
The pipe(s) an almost complete 'U' round the back of the block and down the sides (not quite as far towards the front on the intake side but still a sizable and awkward piece). Unless you botched the rear section by cutting and using hose I can't see how you'd get it out without at least one side (intake must be easier?) being removed.................whats up with it? Needs to be changed for new turbo kit really! little bit gutted as i know its not a easy or quick job taking the engine/box out. Ill try and have a read about but it dont look good, so instead of finding a short cut ill be better off just getting it done
