Guest Dcowan1991
I have owned my non turbo supra for nearly 2 weeks. It started everytime without fail until about a week ago. Sometimes it starts straight away wether cold or not and other times it just clicks. I think it might be the starter motor but im unsure as ive had starter motor problems before on other cars and the actual motor gave in after 1-2days. This one however doesnt seem to want to give in (if it is that). If i turn the key and it wont start it makes a loud click. Sometimes it will just need me to turn the key once and others 10+ times.. it doesnt turnover or anything. Any help would be appreciated.. It doesnt happen all the time which is why when i take it to a garage, it doesnt do it (typical). Thanks Dom P.S the battery and alternator have been tested and they are 100%. DodgyRog
Check the Earth conection on the Starter, there is a rubber cover over the nut and if it is not on properly it fills with water and corrodes the connection Had this exact thing on a Supra I bought and sold a couple of years ago Could be wrong, but it's a free thing to check Edited November 8, 2012 by DodgyRog (see edit history)
jonny248
I've had exactly the same thing happen before and it turned out to be just the battery!! A new one fitted and my problem was solved.

SteveR
Your battery and/or alternator could just be on the way out.
