Suprab1
Just use maxol e5, they claim 99 octain with it. I always use this with the supra & the old evo 7. I have evo scan & plugged it into the evo with the maxol fuel, drove the nuts out of it & kept an eye on the live data & it was 100%. It also had an octain counter on evo scan which read 100% i think on a really hot day in top gear & full load it went to 99% then back up. I tried this before and reset the ECU(disconnect the battery for a few mins) ; I find she runs best on Texaco ; just sluggish on Maxol , the 99 octane claim I would put money on it ; it is bogus Ethanol has an octane of 113. This means that E5 (5% ethanol, 95% RON95) has an octane of only 96. You need E20 to get an octane of 99 What I was considering was, mixing with Sunoco Supreme 114 @ 25% minimum In Ireland, €130 all in per 25 litre drum but carriage is 80+ vat http://www.aaoil.co.uk/racing-Sunoco-Supreme-leaded-racing-fuel Full tank is 60 liters at 25% is 15 liters Sunoco and remainder 95 ron pump fuel ;so you are talking 78 euro per tank to have use 15 liters of Sunoco ; very $$$$$ Edited November 7, 2012 by Jellybean (see edit history)

I tried a few different places with the evoscan & the evo much prefered the e5 but then again cars are funny with fuel, just a shame shell pulled out from ireland. If your worried about knock though you could try running lucas octain booster which gets good results.

Links for stations here. Also if your ECU is a sard it could be mapped for a higher again octane as mentioned previously. My Jspec runs fine on E5, its closer to 98 then 99 afaik though. Hopefully it'll be fine with BPU as well.

I had a look into Octane boosters, if you go by their Octane rating (if it is to be belived) I would need to use 3 bottles per full tank, most of the octane boosters cost 12 euro a pop so 36 euro on top of a full tank starts to get very $$$$$ Thats why I was looking at Sunoco, at least you are sure of the octane rating

I used the one in Baldoyle Road Baldoyle Dublin 13 a few times , she runs better on Texaco ; same with Simons Skyline I know Robbie (TDP) did try the E5 when mapping cars; from what I remember they had inconsistant fuel batchs They recommended sticking to Texaco and Esso for consistancy, they found these to be the most stable I will try it again! But I definetly dont think it is even 98 octane; I think the AA did a test on the fuel , I will see if I can find it A few of the guys here were mixing X % of E85 and Petrol to up the Octane Edited November 8, 2012 by Jellybean (see edit history)
