Radio
Hi chaps.........just been for a run down to Chris wilsons to drop Ricks car off for BPU. Followed him in my 95 UK TT. Everything running perfectly on the way but on return when I put my foot down it hesitated and sounded like it was missing or backing off when the second turbo should come in. Not exactly back firing buy that kind of feeling as if it wanted more fuel but none was there. Doing it every time now. Thought it missed a beat a couple of weeks ago but only did it the once and has been fine since. Ticks over as normal, revs up fine in neutral and generally drives fine until you hit the floorboards. Nothing lit up on the dash to say fault. What do I look for. HELP please.
tony tt
Dodgy coil pack maybe.
suprasurrey
I had the same symptoms as you a few weeks back, turned out to be a split hose at the rear of the engine. Try the tin foil trick on the exhaust valve below the turbos, mine didn`t move proving that there was no air pressure to it.
Nic
Missing/hesitating at higher boost levels could be down to worn plugs or broken coil pack clips. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?61141-How-To-Refurbish-coil-pack-connectors&highlight=coil
SteveC
Check your ECU fault codes. Not all stored faults bring up the MIL indication on the dash.
Havard
This sounds like a pipe off or split hose?
Dim Sum
There can be many reason why the second don't kick in properly but always good to check the simple things first like spilt hose and the vsv's first.
Kirk
As Nic said sounds ignition related. Coils, clips or plugs.
Sukhy
Check the hoses at the back behind the inlet, infront of the firewall.. Pain to get to but is easily missed.
Radio
Cheers guys.....I'm up at the Steak house for the meeting on Thursday and will be in it as it runs fine apart from the said problem. Perhaps one of you guys would stick your nose under my bonnet and take a quick look. I will make sure one of the barmaids is on hand to hold a torch. See you Thursday. TubbyTwo
Stick in in TTC go for a drive, boost a few times then pull over and pull a vac hose off the IVAC VSV, if you hear a loud hiss then the you dont have any split hoses. When my 2nd turbo was mucking about at the start of the year it was the vac line to the EGCV. SPG
If all else checks out fine then check the state of the O2 Sensor as it can cause these symptoms also.
Nic
If all else checks out fine then check the state of the O2 Sensor as it can cause these symptoms also. It won't be the O2 sensors, the ECU will be in open loop by the time the 2nd turbo comes online.

Radio
Thanks a lot kirk...i would really appreciate that. Used to mess about with engines when i was a lad but not into that now...just want to enjoy driving it. Cheers Tubby, checked out your site. Far too complex for me mate, i'll leave it to someone who knows better. Never even taken a plug out of a Sup, never mind about coil packs and stuff.
