Graham1984
The other week my window regulator went and I brought a new one from RobD which works fine. My mechanic mate fitted it but I noticed when I got to about 40ish mph that there was a slight air noise where it was a tad out, stupidly I got back from Madrid earlier and thought I would adjust it slightly but cant get the sodding thing right as the glass was either preventing the door shutting or not lined up right. I have tried everything to get it right and have currently left it at the point where it is sealed but I had to press against the top to make it shut properly. Any suggestions for what method that works would be welcome otherwise I will just have to suck it and get a garage to do it.
Graham1984
Anyone?? If nobody has any methods any rough ideas on a garage price to fix it? Edited October 30, 2012 by Graham1984 (see edit history)
L18msy
At the bottom of the regulator there is a tilt adjuster to tilt the window either in or out. Iirc, you loosen the bolt on the metal bracket and turn the plastic adjusters behind the bracket to tilt the window then tighten bolt again to check how the window sits. Tilt the window in for a tighter seal on the rubber and vice versa. There is also two metal brackets at the top end of the door, left and right. They are the height adjustment. Just loosen the 12mm bolts and adjust the brackets up or down to suit. These are just two plastic stoppers to stop the window at the height needed for a good seal. Hope that makes sense and helps. Thanks mate I just found and have saved the bottom adjuster as a tab on the computer so I can use the information tomorrow but I never realised the blueish rollers that are the 12mm bolts were height adjusters so a massive thanks for that, so far I have just been fannying about with the 3 bolts on the regulator to move the window about hence my problem it seems. I will report back the hopefully good news tomorrow

Graham1984
Still not managed to get the window to seal properly yet and the glass seems to sometimes catch the lining slightly at times. It seems to be the area if you look at the drivers side window in the top left, when I took the door card off I have one adjuster on the right that looks more like a plastic star and the other side seems to have the standard adjuster. Either way to summarise it is getting on my tits and they are big enough already.

I will definitely keep it in mind, I was trying to enjoy having two days off in a row for a change yet as usual I get roped into doing things for other people rather than for myself
