Kaan W
Im a little stuck on fitting my intercooler as I need to mount it as close to the radiator as possible to avoid cutting my front bumper for the pipe work. Only problem I have is the power steering cooler is a bit deformed where it looks like its been reshaped before and it dont really mount flat enough to set my intercooler back enough. Is it possible to just cut one of the U bends off the cooler leaving about 6" on each leg and just use this as ive heard you dont really need a cooler unless your track racing. I can supply a picture if needed, Thanks in advance
Kaan W
Anyone?
Kaan W
Also can I just disconnect the cooler or is that part of the system pressurised?
garethr
Could you move the PS cooler? It's at low pressure, so normal oil hose and hose clips are fine.

I could move it but I would prefure a smaller design or just modify it slightly. So if I take the jubilee clips off the rubber hose thats holding it on now it wont explode just trickle out slightly right?
garethr
That's right. The high pressure pipes are the ones between the PS pump and the rack. The PS cooler on my GS300 rusted through and I was able to remove the pipe and loop it back to the PS reservoir as a temporary measure. One option might be a small oil cooler (perhaps from a pit bike/monkey bike?). Would just need a bracket ot two and the correct diameter connectors. I should be able to modify my cooler and just keep part of it as it still has a bracket and is in faily good condition. I just wanted to see if anyones done this before. Thanks

garethr
This is true. I'm still running the GS with my "temporary" mod.
