Chris Wilson
You needa good garage to put the oscilloscope on the control pins of IACV and see if the ecu is sending a suitable control signal to them. Check it moves fully when removed and ignition is turned off then on. Clean it. Go from there. Without proper diagnostic gear you are wasting your time, you need to be able to see the control signals, or lack of.
RB-GTE
Ok changing the spark plugs did nothing I am still having the same issues with starting. Basically car runs no different with the new plugs. It will crank and fire up but right away on a cold engine... but the the RPM will drop and it'll die right after that. I have to attempt starting it usually around 3 times before it holds an idle. It will bounce back and forth between 600-700 and car will roughly shake. Once it warms up for a couple minutes it seems to run perfectly fine. What coud be the next thing I should have checked? It has brand new plugs and clean idle control valve. Chris Wilson
As I said, you need to look to see if the idle control valve is getting a proper control signal from the ECU. I strikes me it's not "parking" properly.
tony tt
I would have thought they were increments of 200 if 1 = 1000rpm. My TT auto idles exactly the same as the pic cleaned icv and changed the o2 sensor and its still the same idles at 350 ish. Right I'm a div increment reading is about 650 then. tony tt
0 First mark is 500 Every mark after that increases by 100 until 1kRPM I just noticed that I really must pay more attention.

Chris Wilson
Is throwing bits at it the new diagnosis?
bambisdad
Looks like 650 to me too. I think what is throwing you is that there are no markings for the first 500 rpm.
