Dnk
Can anyone recommend a good hole cutting saw for cutting the vents in my bonnet. Looking for approx 20 mm diameter and obviously to cut aluminium

Dnk
I was looking at the Starrett ones and they look like they should do the job nicely and not stupid money either.
hackin_n_bashin
Dunk, I wouldn't touch your bonnet with a hole saw, any way of you marking the holes, and popping over my way when your ready? I have a hydraulic press with a 20mm cutting tool that leaves a perfect circle. I would lend it to you, but we use it every day
hackin_n_bashin
Oh, and I've got 20, 22.5 and 25mm tools if you know the size
DuaneT.Turbo
I used a dremel and file on mine
Dnk
The size is pretty open and purely to leave a nice radius instead of sharp corners. As long as i take it nice and easy a hole saw should do the job but i'll have a practice in the middle of the vent and if it doesn't work i'll give you a shout. I shall be going round all the edges with my die grinder afterwards to smooth out any roughness Edited October 24, 2012 by Dnk (see edit history)
