Rich.2211
jes, what did you clean your throttle body with? I cleaned it using a PH balanced alloy wheel cleaner believe it or not. Works very well providing you don't let it dry on and you agitate it with a stiff brush. Stevo
Looking good Rich! My engine is out at the minute whilst the car is being sprayed and I'm going to be doing lots of tidying up and painting - will be pleased if it comes out half as good as yours Still need to decide on an engine bay colour theme like.... Rich.2211
Looking good..! I might paint my TB whilst it's off that looks ace You can remove the spark plugs without removing the throttle body if your careful mate If it's coming off anyway though then go for it! Worth cleaning all the inside out to and giving the idle control valve a clean.
wewsupra
My new clutch arrived today. Competition Clutch Stage 5, suitable for a 300% increase in torque over the standard item which basically means the poor W58 will probably give way before the clutch slips. I couldn't justify spending more on a fancy clutch when the box will only be coming out next year anyway. Looks semi decent anyway and came with a new release bearing and alignment tool. http://i44.tinypic.com/2ywffux.jpg Also I disassembled my throttle body, cleaned it, painted it and reassembled it. Bit of a PITA to be honest, just fiddly but worth while. Nice excuse to clean the inside of it out too. http://i43.tinypic.com/15q51s8.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/28jbfq0.jpg Nothing much more to note asides from a 3" intercooler is on it's way to me along with a universal pipework kit, silicone joiners and Mikalor style clamps. Mapping has also been arranged for the 31st August so the engine needs to go in pronto now - just waiting for a chance to borrow an engine crane. where did you get clutch from mate as i need to upgrade mine as im vvti with 5 speed box

Rich.2211
Big day tomorrow. Engine is going in touch wood! Haven't had many chances to take pictures recently but the gearbox is painted, boost gauge fitted (second one after the first 60mm item was faulty, hence the hole as I had to butcher the heater vent to fit the first one), oil feed and sandwich plate fitted, throttle body fitted, O2 sensor wiring extended and re routed along with converting to a single O2 sensor, Competition Stage 5 clutch arrived, intercooler and universal pipework kit arrived, 3" decat arrived etc. and with some help from a fellow forum member I've heat wrapped all the manifold, screamer pipe and decat pipe - the downpipe was already heat wrapped when I bought it. Should help to keep under bonnet temps down. Edited August 15, 2013 by Rich.2211 (see edit history)

Rich.2211
Engine and gearbox are in along with the Competition Clutch Stage 5. No decent pictures but a couple of random ones including a pic of Josh (forum member Josh42) rubbing his hands together after the clutch was fitted. The last one is a picture of my 'white' t-shirt after I had finished! Edited August 16, 2013 by Rich.2211 (see edit history)

Mapping is on the 31st of this month ready for it's debut at Trax. There's been a few more purchase made such as Fuchs Titan Race Pro S oil, new Motul gearbox oil, 4" K&N, 4" intake pipework, 3" and 2.5" intercooler pipework etc. So close now!!
