Hey Rich I made an account on this supra forum just to comment and follow up on your build journey! Love the results, love the ambition and all the hardwork you put in every little detail to get to where she is now and to rightfully claim her yours. You have given me alot of inspiration as I am 93 supra n/a 5 speed as well. I know you will be na-t soon definitely looking forward to the whole progress, thanks and please continue updating for us!

Nice work matey, love the updates. I particularly like your 'NA-T' logo on the cam belt cover - it's the little touches! :)

Cheers  The NA-T writing is part of the Team NA-T logo, shall be adding the other half of the logo somewhere else but undecided yet.

Hi mate, that's mad to think someone from the U.S is following my build and glad to hear you drawing inspiration from it to do yours! Hopefully it's not all that far away now in the grand scheme of things, can't wait to get her up and running :D Make sure you do a build thread on yours too if you go down the NA-T route :)

I've got to a point now where I can refit the engine as soon as I have a suitable clutch as I want to re attach the box and put it all back in one go - as it came out. Still awaiting on my injectors to arrive, they've been to Jamaica in the past week :search: but are due in approx 7-9 days from now excluding the inevitable hold up regards import tax.

Intake runners have now been cleaned up and refitted along with new OEM manifold gasket, wiring loom has been refitted pretty much, oil filter housing refitted along with new OEM o-ring and new OEM union bolt washer and I've made up a oil return hose which included ditching the modified stock TT oil return for a full braided setup with billet AN10 flanges on the turbo and oil pan. Still got some fettling to do with the oil return but only minor, will shorten it a little I think and adjust the angles slightly. I've also cleaned and painted the fuel rail ready to refit once my injectors show up.

Next on the list is to purchase a oil filter sandwich plate (changed my mind on the Lexus union bolt I previously purchased) and plumb in my oil feed to the turbo.

Here's a few more (piddle poor) iPhone pictures. A proper camera will introduce itself at some point I promise!!:

After some fettling with my oil return it is finally complete. I've opted for clocking the turbo slightly (no more than 15 degrees), billet AN10 flanges on the turbo and oil pan, 30 degree fitting from the turbo, 45 degree fitting to the oil pan and shortened the braided hose slightly. This should give me less restriction on the line and a little more clearance in the engine bay :)

I have also installed the dip stick assembly along with new OEM o-ring and refitted the oil level sensor. I've finished connecting the engine loom now and tidying it up a little so that's 90% of the wiring bits done - just the O2 sensor wiring to sort and a couple more connectors to plug in once the power steering pump and inlet are back on. Lastly I have removed the ACIS system and butterfly from the stock inlet manifold. I have tapped out the hole left from removing the butterfly and fitted a bolt which sits flush inside the manifold once bolted in. I just need to figure what to do with all the redundant vacuum take off's on the manifold now. I have now painted the manifold also.

The car also got a relatively quick clean. Here's some more random pics (first one shows the new shortened return line):

Progress is going well now your nearly ready to drop it in by the looks of it

Just need to order a clutch and replace the rear crank seal and it can go in. Jet washed the engine bay yesterday ready for it :)

Injectors (650cc. high impedance, Siemens Deka) finally arrived today after travelling here, there and everywhere.. including Jamaica!? Alas, they're spot on. Also picked up the correct adapters to suit the stock wiring loom to save any wire cutting/soldering and it all fits very well. Only modifications were to swap the o-rings on the bottom of the injectors out with new OEM Toyota seals to suit the stock intake runners and also spaced the rail back slightly as the new injectors are a bit longer than factory 330s'. I've also painted the fuel rail to make it a bit prettier!!

To match the uprated injectors I've fitted a new OEM Toyota fuel filter with new washers for the fittings and then attached a fuel damper bypass braided line (courtesy of Hodge). I've also attached the corresponding fitting into the fuel rail to accept the braided line. The first pic below shows old vs new.

Walbro 255 fitted today as well courtesy of Adam (Littler). The soldered connections have been insulated with fuel resistant heat shrink from Chris Wilson. Went in nice and simple! Here's old vs new pics:

I got round to fitting my boost gauge as well, 60mm genuine Blitz item. With some dismantling, tinkering and modifying it now fits perfectly in what used to be the heater vent. I've managed to retain the swivel like function of the stock heater vent so you can actually angle the boost gauge however you want. Simple, but I love it :D I need to pick up some vacuum hose and plumb it in now.

Inlet manifold also back together now with new OEM Toyota gaskets and including the 'ACIS' delete along with a bit of tidying on the engine loom.

Next task is dismantling, cleaning, painting and re-assembling the throttle body. Will be ordering a Competition Clutch Stage 5 next Wednesday as well :)

Such an awesome build great attention to details and no expense spared!

Tightening the big plastic ring on the fuel pump was a nightmare i thought lol.

What is ACIS out of interest?

I used a block of wood and a hammer for the sealing ring lol! Biggest pain was getting it to actually rethread and getting a 10mm socket on the head of the jubilee clip. All done now though!

The ACIS system is what controls the butterfly valve in the intake plenum. It opens/closes dependant upon load/rpm and is designed to give more low end torque on the stock 2JZGE as far as I'm aware. It is also used in other engines but not the 2JZGTE. I've read pros and cons to keeping it or removing it but seen as eventually I'll go FFIM and have to remove it anyway I thought I may as well get rid now so I can also delete the pressure tank and all the associated vac lines etc. Less vacuum hoses = less opportunities for boost leaks ;)

My new clutch arrived today. Competition Clutch Stage 5, suitable for a 300% increase in torque over the standard item which basically means the poor W58 will probably give way before the clutch slips. I couldn't justify spending more on a fancy clutch when the box will only be coming out next year anyway. Looks semi decent anyway and came with a new release bearing and alignment tool.

Also I disassembled my throttle body, cleaned it, painted it and reassembled it. Bit of a PITA to be honest, just fiddly but worth while. Nice excuse to clean the inside of it out too.

Nothing much more to note asides from a 3" intercooler is on it's way to me along with a universal pipework kit, silicone joiners and Mikalor style clamps. Mapping has also been arranged for the 31st August so the engine needs to go in pronto now - just waiting for a chance to borrow an engine crane.
