Chris Wilson
Has it got an FCD fitted? If so remove it and out the wiring back to stock.
The Raven
Has it got an FCD fitted? If so remove it and out the wiring back to stock. Nope not as far as i can see. The engine was stock as far as i know. I have a feeling its something sticking where the block sat for a while in my lock up. I will swap the whole rail out and then see what happens. Im taking my cam next week so i can post vid of it doing its thing.
Chris Wilson
If you keep trying it in such a state you WILL knacker it up, good and proper
The Raven
Even turning it over for 30 seconds? Or less. How will anyone test it without turning it on
Chris Wilson
Hopefully they will be able to trace the issue WITHOUT firing it up. I definitely wouldn't try and start it again, most definitely!!
mellonman
i would start be going over every single conection that you have done changing the loom and engine. checking for damage along the way. are you 100% sure its petrol coming out the exhaust, not water stuck in the exhaust from engine swop? Chris Wilson
Start by finding and posting the injector dwell time on cranking. If you don't have the means to do this you are wasting your time (and time IS money). Then we cann see if the injectors are firing something like correctly. Also post fuel rail pressure with no vac to the regulator. Signal voltage levels from MAP, TPS and coolant temp sensors next. Absolute cheapest way to have even a clue about injector timing is some Noid lights off Ebay, but you should just get a pro to have a look at it. Tyson
Is it possible it is water in the exhaust and it is running rich making the water smell like petrol ? Have you tried collecting some of the fluid and trying to ignite it ? (not in the garage of course )
Dnk
Sorry if i missed it but does it actually run and tickover without missfire

Wez
If its really that rich then surely bore wash would be a major issue, you should diagnose the fault without running it.

The Raven
Well im half way to removing the rail, injecs, FPR. I will try the known good set then get it trailered somewhere. The Raven
Out of wondering who is the closest person to take this to? Id love to let CW take a look but the cost of a trailer to Shropshire
mellonman
probably tdi essex its just over the dartford bridge but failing that whifbitz round the m25 more
Chris Wilson
In the grand scale of building and running these things if you had to trailer it to John 'O' Groats and back it would be chicken feed against your overall annual costs. I would take somewhere with a proven record of engine diagnostics. Whether they have even ever seen a Supra or 2JZ-GTE is irrelevant. A car is a car, a loom a loom, sensors are sensors and they all work on the same basic principles. Judge them on whether they understand these basics and have the gear to analyse and isolate an issue without parts bin swapping. My address is in my sig..... Nikue
I read somewhere if you book an appointment for an MOT somewhere you are legally OK to drive it there even without an MOT. But if the cops stop you , you will need proof of the MOT appointment. Edited October 28, 2012 by Nikue (see edit history)

The Raven
LMAO driving it is not a option. Starting it is by all accounts not a good idea. I think if it was to move it would probably do about 1mpg
