Spent a few hours last night reading through autobox problem posts. Its possible that the box can slip with too little or too much fluid. Going to source another autobox ecu and try that. If not will swap the whole autobox out. Drained some fluid out and its a very dark red. problem is if i have knackered the box don't want to replace the oil if its going to be a waste of time. Littler Posted December 3, 2012 Share Posted December 3, 2012 Definitely sounds ECU related with the reverse beeping noise disappearing, as that would surely remain even if the box had gone as that is engaged based on the gear selector position which is fed through the ECU? The car is an NA-TT, so there is a GTE engine ecu, but the transmission one is a 2JZ-GT ecu. Is this a non turbo auto ecu? or were they all the same? Ian C Posted December 4, 2012 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Yup, the right hand one is the main engine ECU and if it said 2JZ-GE I'd be worried but 2JZ-GT is fine, it's the turbo one. If swapping out ECUs don't work you might have to go down the tedious route of checking the signals/resistances on each sensor wire at the ECU, see what it's seeing.
