teddan
I have started lapping the valves, but i can't get a perfect surface. There are some very small dark spots on the valves contact surface. I have done a leakage test and it was good---- no leakage Should I grind the valves even more?
Rob_Mitchell
Usually best to get rid of the little spots, well i like to anyway. What grade grounding in compound are you using? i usually use a course grade then use a fine grade. If not leaking then dont worry too much... your decision
teddan
I have both fine and course compound, no matter which one I use, I still have some small spots... quite annoying to don't have it perfect
Benjy
Lap them faster. Keep going between the two pastes. Or put the top of the valve in a drill chuck and lap it in that way. Obviously not flat out but it's easier to get the speed than using one of those stupid suckers on a stick!

snake
Dont forget to check the valve guides are not worn out before you spend a lot of time lapping the valves in .
