dr_jekyll
has anybody ever done one? i need to do one on the old mans car but im geting conflicting info on the manuals. obviously the bmw one says you MUST use the special tools and removing the crank bolt to remove the saeal is a big no no as this separated the sprocket from the crank. another guide by an idependant says the only way you will get it out without the special bmw tools is by removing the crank bolt and crank hub. this will allow the cams to turn . is that a big prob? if the chain is not disturbed surely when the sprocket is pulled back down and bolted back up it will be as before disturbed and fine . ? any input much apriciated. craig.
