Alternator failure....I think

Recommended Posts

Took my car for an MOT this morning and all went well.

Was coming home in it tonight and it started missing and hesitating.

Seemed odd, pulled over and decided to limp home.

Tried the wipers and window and it was just going really really slowly so turned the lights off and kept going.

It got worse and worse, I then turned my lights on and it turned the boost controller off. Turned lights on and it came back on.

Got to my road and she was almost dead 5-10mph. Got into my driveway, came to a halt to put in in reverse and It died and wouldn't start (click click click).

Sound like alternator?

CP looks fine.

Do we go with new of SH alternators and how must of a job is it on a single?

So much for taking the supra on the dragoncol :(

Anyone want to buy a single turbo supra, I bored of this shit now. I did 3000 miles since June 2011.... Really not worth it.

Alternator replacement is very straightforward - make sure the battery is disconnected before you start work in case you touch the car body with your spanner when disconnecting the charge cable.

Contact Keron and see if he has any good secondhand units and it should be cheap enough :)
