kniff_666
Just need a little bit of info on the power steering pump. Mine has started to whine when i turn the wheel at low speeds and was wondering if it is on its way out? I am going to be conducting a full service next week and this includes changing the power steering fluid etc. so was wondering if i should change the pump in the process. Questions are: 1. is the PS pump gonna go BOOM? 2. how much of a PITA is it to change the pump? 3. How much and were can i get a new/good one from? jimojameso
You can buy rebuild kits from Toyota for about £70-80. Don't bother with a second hand one.

Chris Wilson
You can buy rebuild kits from Toyota for about £70-80. Don't bother with a second hand one. You need to strip the pump before buying ANYTHING. If the casings are damaged it's not economically repairable. I know them inside out and have rebuilt about 20 of them now. I can do yours if you want.
kniff_666
its good to know. I will swap out the fluid and bleed to see if it solves the problem. If it doesn't i will be in touch
