Geo
2009 car had never been serviced and went through its first MOT about 2 wks ago, it past. This was my friends girlfriends car she was told it had an oil leak when I was in for it's MOT. So today we traced the leak to the oil filter, pic below. My question is this. We replaced the oil and filter with new stuff. When I drained the oil off about 2.5ltrs came out. The car holds 4.7ltrs going by the manual. With the car running like this for a good while. And being topped with oil when the light came on would there be any wear and tear to the internals?? Is it worth dropping the oil again, And replacing filter. And would a magnetic sump plug pull out any crap that's been lurking.
Pulley
Wow I'm amazed it didn't just piss all it's oil out in 5 mins with that hole
hodge
Holy, holy filters batman. I'm suprised it didn't dump all the oil out and not just a couple of ltrs. A magnetic sump plug is a must for any car IMO.
dan294
Maybe worth running a flush through?
Tyson
Probably only did short journeys so oil wasn't fully heating up hence it being more viscous and not leaking as much.
