Tyson
No mil light As long as there is a signal coming from the O2 sensor it won't flag an error code but it might be covered in crap causing you to run rich. Clean the O2 sensor and see if it makes a difference, it won't cost you anything so worth a try.

Lee P
You need to try a new sensor, the old one may look ok but could still be faulty.
Noz
Electronic components can fail without damaging the exteroir of the body, internal components could be failed and you wouldn't realise, which is why fuse's have clear glass for example. Lee is right a good looking sensor doesn't mean it's functioning correctly.
Nic
Do a diagnostic check of the O2 sensor, see here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?35940-Narrowband-O2-Sensor&highlight=oxygen
